Aman of spirit and heart, Mr. Julien Philibert founded a family business that has proven itself over time in the Trois-Rivières community. It was in 1956 that he acquired his first funeral home in Saint-Élie-de-Caxton, his native parish.
After having studied thanatology in Montreal, his humanism and his sense of entrepreneurship allowed him, in 1959, to settle in the parish of Sainte-Marguerite in Trois-Rivières at the corner of Pelletier and Baillargeon streets.
A few years later, his son Paul joined him to support him in the business. His second son, Pierre, also decides to follow in his father’s footsteps by following his thanatologist training. Graduated in 1972, he will join the team: the company J. Philibert et fils inc. officially sees the light of day.
In 1986, the president and founder made a big dream come true. Assisted by his family and his sons, he erected a funeral complex at 1350 rue Sainte-Marguerite in Trois-Rivières. To better serve the families of Trois-Rivières, Mr. Philibert has given himself the mandate to offer under one roof large warm lounges, two rooms for welcoming relatives and friends in a friendly atmosphere, a columbarium and, to make the experience even easier, various services such as an elevator linking the three floors.
Well established in Trois-Rivières, the company also manages five branches in different municipalities in the region: Saint-Élie-de-Caxton, Charette, Saint-Étienne-des-Grès, Saint-Boniface and Saint-Barnabé.
Mr. Julien Philibert died in 2007 and his sons Paul and Pierre, respectively president and vice-president, took over in order to continue this tradition of excellence. Pierre Philibert retired in 2009 and passed the torch to his brother Paul in order to manage the family business.
