Well established in Saint-Jérôme since 1959, Desrosiers et Fils has become over the years a family affair.
It was in 1959 that Gérard Desrosiers joined the staff of the Pilon-Therrien salon in Saint-Jérôme. Graduated in 1956 as an ’embalmer’ as people in his profession were called at the time. At that time, he was working as a funeral director for several similar companies. Finally, in 1970, he bought the company and became the sole owner of the establishment, which then took the name of Desrosiers et Fils.
Raised within the company, the children Desrosiers, Mario and Michel seem to have chosen quite normally to join their parents when the time came to find a profession.
As Michel explains, “we grew up here, we know what this job involves and how to do it. It is for us a logical choice which suits us.
As for Mario, he supports the words of his brother. “When the time comes to choose a profession, we look around us. We evaluate what we like and what we know. What we knew best was the world we grew up in. The choice was therefore quite easy ”.
With the Desrosiers, we learned to deal with death. At the same time we learned the importance of life and respect for the person. This is why there is so much dignity there towards those who leave us and care for those who remain.
