Guided by our values, the funeral cooperative movement of Quebec has decided to take concrete action to reduce global warming and help protect the environment, in Quebec and in a southern country. Through the Heritage program, we aim to bequeath a healthier environment by planting trees and eliminating the impact of our activities on the environment.
Plant a tree … to cultivate memories
The commemorative component of the Heritage program aims to plant a tree in memory of each deceased that we received at the cooperative. In addition to highlighting the departure of a loved one, this gesture has an environmental character that has meaning for a growing number of people. Families will know that the memory of their loved one continues to be honored in the form of a beautiful tree that will help protect life.
Beyond death … there is life
Like any economic activity, the operation of the cooperative generates greenhouse gas emissions, whether for the use of vehicles, funerals, meetings of the board of directors, transport of the deceased, etc. Our cooperative has taken various actions of reduction at source in order to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. To completely offset this impact on the environment, we are helping to plant trees of sufficient value to cover 100% of our ecological footprint. This is a responsible gesture to clearly show our desire to see life flourish … even beyond death.
