In 1981, on rue des Cèdres in Shawinigan, the Coopérative Funéraire de la Mauricie was born from the will of the community. It was founded on principles and values such as empowerment, personal and collective responsibility, democracy, equality and solidarity.

In 1997, the Coopérative Funéraire de la Mauricie acquired the Résidences Funéraires Jean Carbonneau and now offers its customers four service points, in the Shawinigan-Sud sector, which to this day is still designated as the head office, the Grand-Sud sector. Mère, on 4e rue de la Pointe (downtown Shawinigan) as well as in Trois-Rivières, Cap-de-la-Madeleine sector.

In 2004, it once again enlarged its territory with the acquisition of the Residences Trodéchaud in St-Luc-de-Vincennes and St-Séverin-de-Proulxville, which it operated until 2015, where they would be sold to a funeral entrepreneur in the region.

In 2010, the Coopérative Funéraire de la Mauricie made the necessary arrangements to allow the population of St-Prosper de Champlain to use the parish church as a place of exhibition and meditation before the funeral.

In the spring of 2015, the Coopérative Funéraire de la Mauricie inaugurated a brand new branch located on Boulevard Royal in Shawinigan, offering all services under one roof .

With a goal of constant improvement, in order to ensure the comfort and well-being of its members and its customers, the Coopérative Funéraire de la Mauricie has carried out, over the years, major renovations to each of its six points of service , including in Grand-Mère in 2012, and very recently, a new reception hall for the population of the Shawinigan-Sud sector, to name a few.
