Our two salons in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu were formerly known as the Oligny funeral center. In 1978, Yvon Desrochers bought the business he renamed Center funéraire Oligny & Desrochers. The acquisition of the Mont Saint-Grégoire salon was made a few years later.
Yvon Desrochers has a long experience, having started with his parents Jules Desrochers and Célina Caron who had opened their first funeral home in 1915 in Warwick in the Bois-Francs region. In the following years, the family opened other salons in Asbestos, Victoriaville, Danville and Princeville.
The youngest of a family of seven children, Yvon studied embalming at the University of Montreal then worked with his parents before acquiring the Oligny salons in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Mr. Desrochers is the only owner embalmer in Haut-Richelieu.
Yvon Desrochers is passionate about his profession. He has always enjoyed serving the public well and he possesses a sensitivity that allows him to offer a service filled with dignity and respect, both for the body of the deceased person and for his family and loved ones.
